1. Discover where the money is: who are your ideal customers?
2. Create enough stimulus in your PRODUCTS and ADVERTS: VALUE vs FEATURES. Customers are looking for value not features. Give them what they want.
3. Beat the customer’s expectations. There’s no such thing as loyal customers. If you don’t meet your customer’s expectation, forget the loyal stuff.
4. First impression decides if the prospect will finally choose your product or services. Always WOW your customers and keep improving on the ways you serve them.
5. Tell the truth and build TRUST. Without trust, no customer will be willing to part his or her money in buying your product.

Successful Habits of Visionary Entrepreneurs

Posted on

Mind of an Entrepreneur
Are there visionary entrepreneurs you would like to learn of their habits? Have you tried finding out what makes some entrepreneurs successful and others unsuccessful? And do you think you’ve got all it takes to become a visionary entrepreneur? (Answer those questions before you continue).

As much as I am not going to compel you to live these habits of successful entrepreneurs, I will not relent either in showing you ways these habits can change your life if eventually you learn them.

Before the inspiration to write this article came, what has taken a better part of my thought in the last one week was and still is,; “why on earth will an entrepreneur set out or devotedly be interested to establish a business firm he/she knows won’t last ? What will such a mediocre gain by such a worthless venture? Or is it just for the fun of being a one-time business owner?”

You know, this is a difficult lifestyle to behold. Most entrepreneurs who are in business today do not care to know what they stand to gain at the long run, and no doubt, this is among many reasons why they don’t care to observe the output of every habit they inputted into their businesses.

To make a visionary entrepreneur, more than words are needed. Every habit you exhibit has its resultant effect on your business whether good or bad.

In today’s post, I want to dwell on some of the successful habits Henry Wells, William Fargo and John Butterfield, all of American Express inputted as far back as 1850 into American Express that made their legacy what it is today, the successful habits William Boeing inputted into Boeing in 1915 when he founded it, the successful habits of William Durant founder of General Motors, Thomas Edison of General Electric (the man who thought differently from other inventors), William Hewlett and David Packard founders of HP in 1937, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group, Bill Gates of Microsoft Inc., Steve Jobs of Apple, Mazi Clement Owunna of Starline Nigeria, Uche Ugah of Master Energy, Ossy Prestige Ossy of Prestige Associate and many other world renowned successful entrepreneurs.

If I may ask you, what could be some of the habits these men mentioned above were able to exhibit that made their businesses stand out among others? Well, I may not know exactly as I wasn’t there with them but permit me to borrow words from Colin Powell who said; that “There is no secret to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” This quote makes me believe I have a clue to why these men succeeded while others didn’t.

In my previous exclusive interviews with Authors, Entrepreneurs and Public Speakers in U.S.A., London and Nigeria, I came to realize that those successful habits of visionary entrepreneurs are the same all over the world. That is to say that a millionaire in Nigeria has the capacity to become a millionaire in United States of America under the condition that you play by the same rule that earns you money having every other things as a constant. With this I mean to say that if you open up to what I am about to teach you here, you will achieve great success irrespective of the country you find yourself.

To build a successful business that transcends beyond the first generation founders, the habit starts from day one. The big picture of the future begins from your thought. What do you think about successful people? Do you see them to be lucky or spiritualists? Beyond the Two Things Successful Business People Do, they laboured under correct knowledge, thought ‘next generation’ and most importantly lived the successful habits of visionary entrepreneurs.

Top 7 Habits of Visionary Entrepreneurs

1. They had strong desire to be successful
2. They were ready to risk their momentary gain for their future-endless benefits
3. They were team players who kept by the rules of engagement
4. They were bent on building a clock instead of being experts in time telling
5. They built businesses that create room for innovation
6. They were careful to build businesses that the next generations to come won’t be ashamed to be a part of
7. They were busy raising people after their kind

To keep on producing same successful results in the future you must make it a constant in reproducing after your kind as a visionary entrepreneur such that even in your absence the right and best choice will still be made.

One More Secret

Just one more secret to your business excellence, one more secret to become a highflier in life, one more secret to land the biggest job, one more secret to earn the trust of people you have never met and one more secret to earn your name, business or organisation a free ticket to any country of your choice. Between you and your promise land is one more secret… This one more secret has changed my life, business and the way I do things. I want to believe it can as well transform your life as soon as you begin to live by it.

What could this one more secret be? Don’t because you want to be real make yourself vulnerable today or in future. What do I mean by making yourself vulnerable? That’s, thinking you are being real while you belittle, talk down and expose your little secret. Don’t say it the way it is, say it the way you want it to be. Always talk in the tomorrow. For instance, if you are jobless, talk about jobs you can create, you’ve created or that of someone you know or heard about created. If you are a student, talk about your career, talents and great potentials you will end up feeding from in future. If you’re a career person, talk about your promotion, your businesses and possible contracts. And if you don’t have money at the moment or passing through some challenges, don’t talk about it. Build a strong positive mental attitude and you will be surprise how it will influence everything that has your identity.

I was wondering how this ONE MORE SECRET could be instrumental to your success until I looked back into my life from the last two years when I was commissioned to active service in the Ministry of Motivation by God Himself. From that day henceforth, my facebook updates changed, diction changed, association changed, inspiration flowed in and lives in my sphere of contact began to leap for joy. This is to mean, if this secret worked miracles for me, it can as well work much more wonders for you.

You are in great need of this ONE MORE SECRET. What new language could you probably learn today? What new life are you ready to start living today? What new association or connection do you think will definitely be of immense benefit to your excellence in business? Find out… Maybe that could be the one more secret you will need to break some records and walk yourself into the World’s Guinness Book of Record today.

Business Books

To help budding entrepreneurs become more successful in the choice of career they have chosen for themselves I have asked my friends who are experts in the industry of Human Capacity Development to suggest Business Books they think will be beneficial to budding entrepreneurs and why they think these books will be of immense benefit. Those of them who responded before this article was compiled made these powerful suggestions.

Here are what they said:

Emenike Emmanuel
CEO, Emchis Consulting

Emenike Emmanuel suggested that his No.1 best business book for budding entrepreneurs is The Holy Bible. According to Emenike Emmanuel, the founder/CEO of Emchis Consulting, he believes that The Bible is not only a Spiritual Book it is also a Business Book inspired by God. From his findings, almost all of the Principles of Business Success that are being taught today in Business Schools are lifted from the Bible. In confirmation to this, read the following articles; Biblical Business Secrets part 1 and part 2.
You will learn the following from these links (part 1 & 2);
 Why you need a feasibility study before establishing your business as it was first taught us by God in Genesis 1: 2 where the Spirit of God was hovering and assessing the situation on ground before creation began.
 How to make deals creatively and why you don’t need to make it when you are hungry.
 The power of innovation as it was first initiated by Jacob.
 Why you must carefully consider risk but not allowing it to stop you.
 Best business wisdoms as was taught us by King Solomon.
 And many more.

Darlington Dofe Egwim
Darlington Dofe Egwim suggested “GOALS” by Brian Tracy for budding Entrepreneurs
According to Darlington Dofe, he made it clear that the best business book every budding entrepreneur must read is “GOALS” by Brian Tracy. And the following were the reasons for his suggestion;
 It will unlock the entrepreneurial giant in you.
 It will help you take charge of your entrepreneurial career.
 It will help you create your own business.
 It will help you measure your success step-by-step.
 And finally, it will help you become an expert in your entrepreneurial field.

Ifeanyi Anyanwu
Business Growth Strategist
Ifeanyi suggested 5 Powerful Books that every budding entrepreneur whose interest is to hit excellence as a target must read. He was also careful to list out wonderful reasons why he thinks that these business books will be of great benefit to budding entrepreneurs.
Why Ifeanyi Anyanwu Suggested “The New Rules of Entrepreneurship” by Dr Rob Yeung:
 This is a book that will show you how to turn your passion into profit, create your business concept, find customers and make money, and of course grow your business.

Why Ifeanyi Anyanwu suggested “The Psychology of Selling” by Brian Tracy:

 This is a book about the principle of selling that shows you why people ever buy a product, how to sell creatively, 10 keys to success in selling, the power of suggestion and why people don’t buy a product, rather they buy solutions.

Why Ifeanyi Anyanwu suggested “How They Started Global Brands” by David Lester:
 This is a book that helps you know how global brands like Apple, KFC, Coca-Cola Company etc all started, the secrets to each brand’s success, the challenges the founders faced, how the brand names were chosen and where the initial ideas came from.
This is really interesting to behold.

Why Ifeanyi Anyanwu suggested “How To Win Customers & Keep Them For Life” by Michael LeBouef:
 This is a book on how to win and sustain your customers who are the life-blood of your business. When they go your business falls. In fact, they are the No.1 Boss. He suggested it because it shows you why people buy once and never return, why people become strong and steady customers, how to turn angry customer into a happy and satisfied one and the 5 best ways to keep customers coming back.

5. SECRET OF SELF-EMPLOYMENT by Sarah and Paul Edwards
Ifeanyi Anyanwu suggested this book because it dwells much on surviving and thriving in the ups and downs of being your own Boss. “Secrets of Self-Employment” by Sarah and Paul Edwards is a book that will help you develop the confidence, motivation and self-discipline to succeed, methods to assess your personal strengths and weaknesses, get the world to take you seriously and how to overcome uncertainty, fears and self-doubt.

Jephter Akaehie
CEO, Power Edge Consulting

Jephter Akaehie suggested “100 UNBREAKABLE LAWS OF BUSINESS SUCCESS” by Brian Tracy.
He suggested this business book because he considers it a “Business Prophetic Manual”. Jephter said; “it turned my business life around and I believe it can do same for every budding entrepreneur.”

David Okorie
Founder, Reality Power Talk

“I think the best business book I can suggest for budding entrepreneurs is “BUSINESS AT THE SPEED OF THOUGHT” by Bill Gates.”

Take Action Now!
I plead on you to please visit the nearest bookshop to you and get these books if you’ve not read it, but if you’ve read it before begin to implement what you learnt from it.

Note: More updates are coming. Keep winning. You are made to be great, so don’t fail your generation.

Why 2014 is Considered the Year of The Entrepreneurs

Posted on Updated on

Why 2014 is Considered the Year of The Entrepreneurs

2014 has been globally considered by Experts and successful entrepreneurs around the world as the year of the entrepreneurs. This, as I discovered was because of the great number of successful entrepreneurs who are springing off from all works of life. When I conducted my research about entrepreneurs and the business world I came to realise few points that made this year 2014 to be considered the year of the Entrepreneurs by experts. These things are;

1. 2013 produced 138 women as billionaires but 2014 produced 172 billionaires, indicating that 42 women joined the club of billionaires in 2014.
2. In 2013 we had an aggregate net worth of the billionaires to be $5.4 trillion but in 2014 we had an aggregate net worth of billionaires to be $6.4 trillion, indicating an increase of $1 trillion.
3. 2014 has recorded 268 new entrants of billionaires which includes the two gorgeous guys of WhatsApp, Jan Koum and Brian Acton I wrote about in my previous post titled; 5 Lessons I Learnt From the Transaction Between Facebook and WhatsApp.
4. In 2014 Sheldon Adelson joined the top ten billionaires in the world for the first time after adding $11.5 billion to his previous net worth.
5. In 2014 Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook Inc. jumped from $15.2 billion of net worth to $28.5 billion.
6. For the first time in history our own Aliko Dangote, founder of Dangote Group, a man I respect and hold with high esteem so much joined the Top 25 billionaires in the world.
7. And finally, for the first time in history Algeria, Luthuania, Tanzania and Uganda produced her billionaires in dollar. Of a truth, there’s no doubt that the year 2014 so far has really being a blessing to entrepreneurs.

Top 7 Reasons Why You Can’t Do Without a Business Plan

Posted on Updated on

A business plan is as important as the success of the business is. Any entrepreneur who wishes to make it big in business must not invest a dire into any business of interest without first constructing a profitable business plan. Of course you know that a Business Plan is like a roadmap leading to the success of the business. However, you don’t need to spend all your time hoping to write the most articulated business plan – just do it. Write something; at least more than half for small business owners but for great conglomerates, make sure you did all the work from day one.

You can do it. You can write a profitable business plan, but in a situation you don’t trust yourself enough you can always count on us here at Emchis Consulting for guidelines.
For seven top reasons you can’t do without a business plan and that’s what I have got here. Enjoy it.
7 Reasons Why You Need a Business Plan

1. Business Plan makes you stay focused and on track

I have a popular slogan with me “that the focused attitude of an Aircraft is what keeps it going beyond the limiting gravitational force.” When you venture into business, things you never imagined that existed keeps popping into your imagination and if you lack a clear-cut plan of what you are in for and where you are going you may lose focus and start failing. If you want to know Entrepreneurs who lacked concentration go and check those who had no Business Plan.

2. A Business Plan offers you good assistance in setting the standard for accessing and evaluating your business

By taking your mind back to the day you first had that business idea(s), you will understand with me that the business you thought of was quite fascinating. If by any means something goes wrong in your absence, it is with the help of the Business Plan that people can correct the mistake made being in accordance with the vision of the Pioneer. I stand to be corrected that one of the reasons why so many businesses could not survive beyond the first generation owners is because they lacked solid and implemented Business Plans.

If there be a yardstick for measuring accuracy in staff performance in a company, an assessment tool for determining high-level performance in School systems and a limit of Right to offenders, I think we would have no heavy problem to contend with. Remember: Business Plan is a compilation of your Business Ideas in such a manner that it can deliver an optimum result of success. This makes it clear that we must not limit a Business Plan to only businesses. It must be extended to everything that makes us busy – that’s ‘busyness.’ It could be a talent, life goals or a profession. Just name it!

3. Adjustment and Readjustment where and when necessary can only be real in a business that had a Business Plan

To identify the place of error in a licking roof, you must search out for the pigeon-hole using the Building Plan. And until you find the Pigeon-hole in the Building Plan, you may succeed in spending your time in futility. With the help of a Business Plan you can be able to find out mistakes and business failures where and when necessary and within the limit of your knowledge or that of your hired Professionals offer solutions to ameliorate it.

4. Business Plan helps you build values and principles that will guild your company

The kind of product you are limited to trade on must be inculcated in your business plan. How you intend to convince customers must as well be part of the content of your business plan. And the class of customers you are out to serve, the value-rating you seek to acquire in the market, your innovative approach and the standard every workforce of the company must undertake in fulfilling the company’s vision must be strictly spelled out and followed in the Business Plan.
With this, you have acquired the unbending principle towards achieving business breakthrough and greatness.

5. Business Plan helps you recognize opportunities, identify risk, plan preventions and develop strategies to tackle any eventuality

Entrepreneurs who have a Business Plan for their business and apply it to the core are never easily tossed up and down by the prevailing societal issues at hand. It is this kind of people that Zig Ziglar referred to as Real Managers who get excited when their customers complain. Zig Ziglar has it that when customers complain, business owners and Managers ought to get excited because it is a huge opportunity for more business. Why would they get excited because they have just been reminded of their weaknesses and that’s a good opportunity to either subdue it or work on it?

Even before they walk into business, by the power of a good Business Plan, they have known what their possible opportunities for more business are, a limiting weakness that could stand their way, possible risks they must undertake to unveil the next success and of course have searched out means they could prevent the avoidable risks and strategies to tackle the unavoidable risks.
6. A Business Plan defines your products or services

It is in your Business Plan that you determine if your company will be focusing on delivering products (and what type of product?), services (and what type of services?) or products and services (and how this two can be combined optimally). To establish a firm that can’t fail so easily, you must seek to deliver services when selling your products.

If you don’t know how to start or what to sell, start by selling services and then grow into selling products. Once you’ve grown into selling products after services, you can go to think while your business goes ahead in gaining the market shares.
7. A Business Plan helps you channel your energy in the right direction and eliminate waste

Your Energy Bank Account has things that make it stocked up and things that make it glow red. The previous is the right investment of energy and the recent is the wrong investment of energy.

You may ask, how do people invest their energies wrongly? Yes! People do. They do that by taking uncalculated risk, by venturing into unpredicted success lane hoping that miracle will happen or luck will shine on them, by not studying the successful business pioneers, by working on assumptions and expectance of instant gratification. With a good Business Plan you can overcome this low-level mentality that has brought people unprincipled success.
If you have a good business plan which by professional look has been approved to last, you have no worry to worry if the business will pay or not. You simply know that you are in for great business.

My Weekend Discovery of Crawling Businesses

Posted on

How to Stop Your Business From Crawling

I moved round the city yesterday to observe good number of companies and industries that have been in business for over 5 years and my discoveries were so amazing. Two of the last places I visited were a boutique along Mosque Street by Hospital Road and a Photograph/Video studio along Cameroun Road by Ube Street (all in Aba, Nigeria). The looks on the faces of the two owners of these businesses proved how frustrated they were.

When I threw few of my sampling techniques of identifying businesses that are crawling or that may likely crawl, I came to realise how far these businesses were behind the modern technology. Like the photograph studio I made mention of visiting, they were over 5 years behind where the technology is today. When others, I mean their competitors have gone into the use of digital cameras and computer system for professional editing they were still busy with their mechanical/analogue approach. Come to think of the signpost (an arrow indicating where their business is and what they had the capacity to offer) they had, it was mocking. I know that no reasonable person in his right senses will like to do business with such companies. The signposts are so unfriendly that it can send a potential customer on flight at the first sight.

However, something can still be done to revive those businesses and in few moments from now, I will be offering my solution if well implemented will help them bounce back to life and thus regain their customers’ loyalty and confidence.

So, is your business or that of someone you know experiencing any of those setbacks I cited above from my weekend discoveries? Here are things you must do to stop your business from crawling again.
How to Stop Your Business from Ever Crawling Again

1. Be observant of where the technology is at the moment

Customers will consider it an insult on their persons if they discover you sold to them an old tech with the current price tag. If they were so quite to reserve their comments bear it in mind they will never return again. Get to know what is in vogue at the moment that your customers may likely want. Spice those things into your services and you will continually land more prospects and of course returning customers too.

2. If possible, don’t let the world around you develop faster than you

To remain relevant both to your customers and in your industry you must develop alongside the technology. When your competitors are beginning to use computerized doors, join them. When they are beginning to use digital facilities, join them. And if you can, take the lead but in a situation you are not creative enough you can learn to follow well by incorporating two or three new technologies of your competitors. Don’t let the technology develop faster than you otherwise your competitors will push you out of the industry.

3. Look for one new technology you can invent

No matter how uncreative you think you are, there’s always a new thing you can do. There’s always a new technology you can embrace. What drag customers into your business most times for the first time might not be the wonderful referrals but the outlook of your business. Like I made mention of the ugly signpost I saw, what does yours look like? How creative is it? If you are to be the customer will you make a choice to go ahead with the purchase after sitting the signpost? I leave it to you to judge.

4. Always check out what your competitors are doing

This point looks similar to the one discussed above but here I want to cite something different. This point is for those who are afraid to take risk. The easiest way to avoid uncalculated risk is to watch your competitors more closely than they can ever watch themselves. For every action they took for the first 6 months watch out to see what the reactions of customers were. Don’t be in a haste to copy otherwise you might be copying a gambled decision of the business owners. Watch before you leap but don’t die watching. Copy professionally.

5. Ask relevant questions concerning your business

Most business owners are so carried away by the rigours and fantasy of business that they no longer care to ask people how they business is, what people think about them and how they can get better. Although asking question is necessary but not everyone is qualify to be asked. People like your competitors and novice are not worth asking.

6. Come for mentorship
Yes. I have been helping you all through my articles on a distant level but now I’m offering you an opportunity to present yourself and your business for mentorship on a closer relationship. It was for this course that I established Emchis Financial Empowerment Summit (EFES).
