Top 7 Reasons Why Most Bloggers Quit So Soon

Posted on

[An article that unveils the unspoken intents why
most bloggers quit blogging too soon and thus never live to
share in the millions of dollars circulating in the dot com world]

Are you an entrepreneur, a student or one of the unemployed youths hoping to join millions of other bloggers making six digit figures as an income from simply blogging and other related internet businesses? Here comes an article to educate you beforehand over certain reasons why most bloggers don’t continue after the first one year of spiral blogging and possible things you can do to become an outstanding success in this industry.

“Passion is the fuel and oil that lubricates and
empowers every iota of success and accomplishment
ever experienced by an entrepreneur.
Without passion entrepreneurs quit.”
Emenike Emmanuel
Founder, Emchis Consulting

Having failed as a blogger before but now upstanding and of course raising thousands of others to stand with me, I think I am in a better position to show you reasons why most bloggers quit so soon and why I choose not to quit again.

“Gone so soon” is the word to describe the speed with which most bloggers abandon their blogging career to move on to other businesses.

Making money online as a blogger can be easy if you understand the principles that will help you to stay abreast, otherwise, it can also be highly frustrating.

Some bloggers who claim to have over 100,000 visitors in their first month of blogging most times are not always telling us the whole truth, except for bloggers who had some previous blogs and of course some regular viewers who they had to introduce to their next and newest blog, (I mean the likes of Michael Dunlop who had to introduce his blog readers at http://www.RetireAt21.com to http://www.IncomeDiary.com).

When budding bloggers who we are hoping to train into hot-headed entrepreneurs get to read most of these exaggerations, they are often left with two options of either to quit and move into other businesses or just stay back waiting for their own turn of the traffic in the future with little or no definiteness of purpose.

Whatever be the issue, I still believe that “quitting is not an option.” Only small minds quit too early. Don’t make yourself one. When it comes to making entrepreneurs and employees perform at their peak, I have always played my part and that’s one of the lessons I have never failed to litter on the pages of every article published here in Emchis Consulting.

For several reasons bloggers who came into blogging (with the hope of making a fortune out of it) quit so soon. And from the experiences I had from my previous failed blogs and information I gathered from friends who abandoned blogging to other line of businesses came these Top 7 Reasons Why Most Bloggers Quit So Soon.

1. Drain of Passion
Passion is a pivotal instrument needed to keep businesses running. In fact, I can vividly say that passion is the fuel and oil that lubricates and empowers every iota of success and accomplishment ever experienced by an entrepreneur. Without passion entrepreneurs quit.

The case of a blogger who is drained of passion over his blogging career cannot be different. Such a person is bound to quit blogging as soon as the passion to write, publish and interact with other bloggers and followers isn’t there anymore.

2. False Perceptions about Blogging
Newbie have several misconceptions about blogging. Some think money comes simply by writing and publishing. Oh my God! What a foolish thing to think this way! Making money from blogging isn’t that easy. It requires much more than just creating a blog post and hitting ‘publish.’ Unfortunately, when those false perceptions and conceptions fail some bloggers, all they could remember is the word ‘quit.’

3. Quest for Quick Money or Overnight Wealth
As long as you have not invested money and time into your blog (directly or indirectly), your probability of making huge income from it is limited. It might interest you to know that intelligence can wonderfully break these protocols such that even without advert spaces, word ad, or google adsense, you can still make money from your blog. I know you will be interested to know how I do it but let’s leave it for our next post [or rather for students who will register for How to Build a Successful Blog with me].

Investing in your blog can come by a way of buying an advertorial space in other blogs to promote either your product and services or just your posts. This strategy is what I have spirally used to garner traffic to my blog. See Naija Pound where I promote my latest audio book titled; How to be an Entrepreneur of Excellence.

However, quest for overnight wealth which has failed and will continue to fail bloggers has never ceased in making the impatient bloggers quit blogging so soon.

4. Bad Ranking on Alexa.com
One of the most frustrating yet energizing experiences most bloggers have is trying to check their web ranking on http://www.Alexa.com . When some bloggers after publishing probably their 50th or 100th blog post and still find their blogs either not captured by Alexa.com Matrices or ranking millionth, hurriedly quit blogging.

This decision to quit too early is also remotely related to having little or no visitors view their blog posts. Notwithstanding the fact that it can be quite tempting to quit, it is however more interesting to synergize and re-empower yourself to become one among the successful bloggers. Read up this article from a trusted friend of mine on how you can Improve On Your Google Ranking Using the Social Media.

5. Lack of Adequate Technical Abilities
Blogging needs some techniques. These techniques include but not limited to ability to tag rightly and professionally, ability to link some social networking sites to your blog, ability to install some necessary web tools and plugins etc. When some bloggers have tried without success, some choose to quit while few pay others to do it for them. Well, I still believe you don’t necessarily need to be a Web Savvy to get these things right. You just need to put in extra time, and be passionate about your decision to be a Professional Blogger.

There are several levels of technicalities needed to keep your blog beautiful. To make a successful blogger you need to learn them.

6. Poor Writing Skills
People with poor writing skills have lesser probability of making a successful blogger. Greater percentage of the things you will be doing in blogging has everything to do with writing but poor writing skill will definitely bring in a mishap. Whether you are into gaming, software development or any sort of internet marketing, the place of your writing ability cannot be substituted.

Although not everyone was born with this skill but it can actually be learnt and even mastered. I can remember the first day I thought about writing my first book. I woke up that night with everything I wanted to write on my mind but translating them into a readable sentence was where the problem lied. However, since I knew that ‘writing’ was what will launch me to my next level, hence I continued to develop my writing skills. Today, I can boast of over 100 business-based articles, 8 unpublished books and several contributions to magazines. It is amazing that today I can write as much as 5000 words every day, all because I gave in my time to it.

To become a successful blogger or probably just a writer (not blogging this time), I recommend you read Okechukwu Ofili’s article here on How to Write Often.

7. Not Being Knowledgeable about SEO
SEO means, Search Engine Optimization. I may not know any SEO Expert but I know of one even though he has often declined to be. From the moment I began to follow his advice, everything about my career as a blogger changed, my ranking on Alexa.com came up and when searching for certain keywords on Google you will definitely find my posts. His name is MICHAEL DUNLOP. Michael Dunlop, the founder of http://www.RetireAt21.com and http://www.IncomeDiary.com has played a great role in teaching me the reasons while some blog posts appear on search engine and get read why others never surfaced. Bravo to him. Also, Rebekah Radice, founder of http://www.RebekahRadice.com has also been instrumental in helping me fully understand the impact of the social media in growing my traffic and also in marketing.

To enjoy your life as a professional blogger you must be knowledgeable about how SEO works; the function of webcrawlers and the benefits of tagging appropriately. Those who rely on having creative and well articulated write-ups most times end up not having their blogs visited and in worst cases never had their articles shared.

To make it big as a blogger is possible, it is not easy, but you need passion, patience, hard work and you must be knowledgeable about SEO ranking. Most importantly, you must have to hone your writing skills. Even if you weren’t born with it, you can learn and develop it.

Having said all these, I wouldn’t like to see you quit, whether as a blogger, a student or as an entrepreneur. You must understand that up there in the sky are no limitations. If you add more strength, passion and creativity to what you are doing today, you will certainly project yourself into the sky where you can succeed without limit.

“People with poor writing skills have lesser
probability of making a successful blogger.”

How to Deal With the Fear of Starting a Successful Blog

Posted on

How to series
Do you want to join millions of people around the world who are making waves in the blogging industry as a blogger? These ones have gained independence from corporate slavery. Over the week, I met with some extremely successful bloggers who after all they had studied in the Universities ended up Bloggers. One was a Journalist and the other was a Registered Nurse.

Do you want to drastically deal with the fears that have hindered you from making the move into the world of abundance as a blogger? Meaning that you have the passion to write but you are afraid of taking the first step. Probably you considered it a risk not worth taking. Or were you thinking blogging will stop you from living the life of freedom you’ve always wanted? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions then I can guarantee you that you are in the right place.

In this blog I have a special interest in building entrepreneurs who will go round the world teaching others How to Change the World.

Recently I got a message from one of my facebook friends and a keen follower of Emchis Consulting which I think it will be nice to share with you. He said;
“Good morning Mr. Emenike Emmanuel. My name is Stan. I just read your article titled “Misconceptions about Blogging” and felt the need to send you this message whilst the fire ignited by your article is still at full blaze in my mind.

I have a passion for writing and have always wanted to go into blogging, but I don’t know where to put the first step. I harbour fears that I might not be able to sustain it. I will really appreciate your guidance and counsel. I have been following your works on facebook. Thank you Sir.”

This is not the first time I’m receiving this kind of message, I have had people stop me at conferences and on the street with excitement that they finally met me live. I have also had people recommend me for speaking engagements by virtue of the great contents of this blog, Emchis Consulting which is speedily making a wave in the industry, but for the fact that I promised him of creating a new article in his honour and in response to his questions, I have decided to include this testimony. Anyway, this is by the way. Let’s go back to the topic of discussion – How to Deal with the Fear of Starting a Blog.
Blogosphere
Registering on wordpress (the best blogging platform) and creating your first article, and afterwards hitting ‘publish’ can be very easy and exciting but continuously churning out great contents can be very difficult, and it is one among the reasons while most people like Stan are afraid if they can sustain it.

Emchismotivationalnetwork.blogspot.com, Emchis.blogspot.com and Emenikeemmanuel.blogspot.com were the first three blogs I started which are now abandoned for several reasons even though my wonderful intellectual materials are still there. That’s to say that starting a blog is not enough but having a Big Picture of what the content and marketing of the blog will be like is much more important.

Starting a blog is a great doorway into the realm of freedom from corporate slavery. When Michael Dunlop of IncomeDiary.com and RetireAt21.com ,Matt Wilson of Under30CEO.com, Ajaero Tony Martins of MyTopBusinessIdeas.com, Bamidele Onibalusi of WritersInCharge.com, Darlinton Omeh of WealthResult.com, Brian Clark of CopyBlogger.com, Darren Rowse ProBlogger.net, Rebekah Radice of RebekahRadice.com, Joel Brown of Addicted2Success.com and I myself (founder of Emchis Consulting) set out to finally become bloggers we had several challenges which we knew had the capacity to stop except we aggressively confront and conquer them.

In fact, the first one month you started blogging can be so challenging that if you are not careful you will either be forced by circumstances to dive into too many niches (combining business with news) or quit entirely. This happens especially when you don’t have visitors on your blog.

How to Overcome the Fear of Building a Successful Blog
As a newbie in the blogging industry, these are some of the things you must do;
1. Expect discouragement from friends and family members but be determined to drive through the odds.
2. Work overtime. Take no vacation.
3. Write often. Hone your writing and speaking skills.
4. Give more interest and time to developing good content over design
5. Attend seminars and conferences related to the niche you are blogging about, it helps you to connect with people.
6. Network with other bloggers by meeting them, following their blogs, commenting often on their blog posts, following them on facebook, twitter, google+ etc
7. Make extensive research before you write.
8. Focus on what you are passionate about and it will be hard for you to quit so soon.
9. See blogging like you see every other business that can’t make money without inputting effort.
10. Give yourself hope that one day you might be giving an offer of over a million dollar to buy up your blog.

In Conclusion
The fear of starting your own blog can actually be dealt with if you will learn to follow the advices of pioneers in the industry. Wait a minute, do you know what you might probably be losing if you don’t start now? The fear of wasting the opportunity is enough to keep you determined to start your blogging career today. However, there are too many Misconceptions about Blogging which I would want you to read before you take action into starting your first or next blog today.

Misconceptions About Blogging

Misconceptions about Blogging pix
How much do you know about the blogging industry? What was your intention for coming into blogging? And what was the biggest lie you were told about the blogosphere? Are you tired of being lied to and now want to know the truth about making money from blog? If you are, then I am ready to help you. You are not permitted to be deceived again on issues about blogging by virtue of the content of this article but if eventually you get deceived, simply know that you caused it because you have refused to abide by my technical yet simple instructions.

Blogging is much more than copy and paste like I have always told you. Blogging is a noble profession which should only be reserved for those few integral part of the society who delight in writing and are passionate about educating the world. Most popular bloggers have deceived new entrants that blogging is all about money making. They have deceived new entrants that it is only the news niche where money can be generated in blogging.

Blogging is not only for the purpose of making money, it is much more than that.
Emenike Emmanuel
Often times most newbie are always misunderstanding the place of blogging in granting employment and financial liberty. Blogging has offered most people a new opportunity to own their own business usually home-based businesses. Blogging as a home-based business has lifted most Nigerians off the burdens of corporate slavery.

Misconceptions about Blogging

Blogging is All about Money Making

Blogging is not just for the purpose of making money. In fact Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motors was right when he said that “a business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.” Most people who made great amount of money from blogging were mostly those who went into with the goal of achieving something much more than money. In fact, I always advice that it is better to do anything for fame than for money because I have discovered new ways which Thinking Money Makes People Poor, and that is why those who heed to my instructions always come out an outstanding success.

If you are in the Blogging Industry or wish to join soon you must realise from today henceforth that blogging is beyond money making. For more information on other things that could motivate you to become a Blogger or as a Blogger, read this article: 5 Things to Keep You Motivated as a Blogger.

You Don’t Need Passion to Be a Blogger, All You Need is Access to the Internet

Just like every other kind of business career, passion is very pivotal to your excellence. It is passion that keeps you awake at night to research, write and publish. Without passion it will be very difficult to remain a Blogger for more than a year. Most copy and paste attitude being exhibited by some bloggers today especially in Nigeria is because they no longer have the passion to remain in blogging.

One of the biggest lies I have heard ever since I came into blogging professionally was; “you don’t need to be even passionate about it (that is, blogging), all you just need is to have access to the internet.” And my question is who is feeding our innocent and budding online entrepreneurs with all these lies? No wonder the adherers of this fake information copy, edit and paste information on their website without considering the legal implications! They spread rumours and afterwards mess up the blogging profession.

If You Can’t Write You Can Copy Other Bloggers

If you can’t write don’t blog. Look for some other businesses you can do. There are several other internet businesses you could do from home apart from blogging. Please don’t be a party to those who soil the reputation of this noble profession. That Linda Ikeji makes millions of Naira from her blog in a month does not mean we do not have other people who can make as much as twice what she makes from other kind of businesses. What of Akin Alabi, founder of NairaBet.com and Simdul Shagaya, founder of Konga.com? Aren’t they successful? It is plagiarism to steal people’s web content to publish on your blog as though you are the originator. If you can’t write you can market online or go into partnership with others who have special writing skills like most people have done with me. I now write for several magazines and individuals – some I sell out rightly, others I publish in my name.

You Can Write On Any Niche

There’s always an industry you know something about. If it is not the music industry it is the fashion industry, if it is not the movie industry it is football, if it is not entrepreneurship it is insurance, if it is not about the internet it is something else. There are numerous niches available to be explored but the truth is that no matter how versatile you are in knowledge you can’t write (blog) on just any niche. You must have an area of specialty. You must have a niche where you have strong passion for. It is possible you may have more than one niche like me but before you go into blogging professionally it is expedient you decide a niche to blog on. This is where your success as a blogger begins. Your niche is what determines the people you attract to your blog. People surfing the net for information go by keywords and it is these Google keywords that determines if your blog comes up on the search engine or not.

Don’t be deceived, you can’t write on just any niche. Decide a niche you will blog on. There’s something you know how to do best, begin from there. It could be about mobile apps, electronics, psychology, prayer or what have you. Begin with a niche and let your followers understand you to be an expert in that field and before long, money will flow in your direction.

Blogging is a Get Rich Quick Scheme

Most bloggers get frustrated in their blogging career because of the misconceptions they had about blogging. They were told big lies which they could not resist. In fact, when I came into blogging newly we were all told the same lies. Most popular bloggers have deceived us to believe that once you come into blogging you become a millionaire overnight, but this is not true. It takes time to make money online especially as a blogger. It takes courage and perseverance to continue blogging while you wait for the money to come. It took Linda Ikeji of LindaIkeji.blogspot.com, Uche Eze of BellaNaija.com, Darlington Omeh of WealthResult.com, Farouk Radwan of 2KnowMyself.com and several others years before they started making money from blogging. So if you must succeed in this blogging industry you must be ready to exercise patience.

Let me sound it clear again before I finally wrap up this post that blogging is not a get-rich-quick business scheme that makes you money overnight. If you are thinking that way please be informed that blogging is not for you. Blogging is majorly for the purpose of bringing solution to people and as those problems are solved, the money comes.

What You Need to Know About Blogging

Posted on Updated on

Blogosphere
Blogging is not a copy and paste affair. Blogging is a noble career which should only be left for people who have the ability and passion to write. Everybody must not be a blogger or better put, you must not blog about news or events to be successful. There are several niches you could blog about. If you don’t have legal access to news and events there’s no point blogging on those niches.

You could do something more valuable with your time than spread deadly rumours on the internet simply because you want to get traffic on your site. My dear, that’s not all there is about the blogging industry. Blogging is much more than making money from traffics or pay per click, it is an online platform for solving problems.

If you’re new to blogging or wish to join later please ask questions. I have over 50 creative niches you could blog on. That’s to say you can still make a name for yourself without involving in copy and paste.

Don’t join the rumour mongers who only stain the image of the blogging profession.

Top 7 Reasons Why You Can’t Do Without a Business Plan

Posted on Updated on

A business plan is as important as the success of the business is. Any entrepreneur who wishes to make it big in business must not invest a dire into any business of interest without first constructing a profitable business plan. Of course you know that a Business Plan is like a roadmap leading to the success of the business. However, you don’t need to spend all your time hoping to write the most articulated business plan – just do it. Write something; at least more than half for small business owners but for great conglomerates, make sure you did all the work from day one.

You can do it. You can write a profitable business plan, but in a situation you don’t trust yourself enough you can always count on us here at Emchis Consulting for guidelines.
For seven top reasons you can’t do without a business plan and that’s what I have got here. Enjoy it.
7 Reasons Why You Need a Business Plan

1. Business Plan makes you stay focused and on track

I have a popular slogan with me “that the focused attitude of an Aircraft is what keeps it going beyond the limiting gravitational force.” When you venture into business, things you never imagined that existed keeps popping into your imagination and if you lack a clear-cut plan of what you are in for and where you are going you may lose focus and start failing. If you want to know Entrepreneurs who lacked concentration go and check those who had no Business Plan.

2. A Business Plan offers you good assistance in setting the standard for accessing and evaluating your business

By taking your mind back to the day you first had that business idea(s), you will understand with me that the business you thought of was quite fascinating. If by any means something goes wrong in your absence, it is with the help of the Business Plan that people can correct the mistake made being in accordance with the vision of the Pioneer. I stand to be corrected that one of the reasons why so many businesses could not survive beyond the first generation owners is because they lacked solid and implemented Business Plans.

If there be a yardstick for measuring accuracy in staff performance in a company, an assessment tool for determining high-level performance in School systems and a limit of Right to offenders, I think we would have no heavy problem to contend with. Remember: Business Plan is a compilation of your Business Ideas in such a manner that it can deliver an optimum result of success. This makes it clear that we must not limit a Business Plan to only businesses. It must be extended to everything that makes us busy – that’s ‘busyness.’ It could be a talent, life goals or a profession. Just name it!

3. Adjustment and Readjustment where and when necessary can only be real in a business that had a Business Plan

To identify the place of error in a licking roof, you must search out for the pigeon-hole using the Building Plan. And until you find the Pigeon-hole in the Building Plan, you may succeed in spending your time in futility. With the help of a Business Plan you can be able to find out mistakes and business failures where and when necessary and within the limit of your knowledge or that of your hired Professionals offer solutions to ameliorate it.

4. Business Plan helps you build values and principles that will guild your company

The kind of product you are limited to trade on must be inculcated in your business plan. How you intend to convince customers must as well be part of the content of your business plan. And the class of customers you are out to serve, the value-rating you seek to acquire in the market, your innovative approach and the standard every workforce of the company must undertake in fulfilling the company’s vision must be strictly spelled out and followed in the Business Plan.
With this, you have acquired the unbending principle towards achieving business breakthrough and greatness.

5. Business Plan helps you recognize opportunities, identify risk, plan preventions and develop strategies to tackle any eventuality

Entrepreneurs who have a Business Plan for their business and apply it to the core are never easily tossed up and down by the prevailing societal issues at hand. It is this kind of people that Zig Ziglar referred to as Real Managers who get excited when their customers complain. Zig Ziglar has it that when customers complain, business owners and Managers ought to get excited because it is a huge opportunity for more business. Why would they get excited because they have just been reminded of their weaknesses and that’s a good opportunity to either subdue it or work on it?

Even before they walk into business, by the power of a good Business Plan, they have known what their possible opportunities for more business are, a limiting weakness that could stand their way, possible risks they must undertake to unveil the next success and of course have searched out means they could prevent the avoidable risks and strategies to tackle the unavoidable risks.
6. A Business Plan defines your products or services

It is in your Business Plan that you determine if your company will be focusing on delivering products (and what type of product?), services (and what type of services?) or products and services (and how this two can be combined optimally). To establish a firm that can’t fail so easily, you must seek to deliver services when selling your products.

If you don’t know how to start or what to sell, start by selling services and then grow into selling products. Once you’ve grown into selling products after services, you can go to think while your business goes ahead in gaining the market shares.
7. A Business Plan helps you channel your energy in the right direction and eliminate waste

Your Energy Bank Account has things that make it stocked up and things that make it glow red. The previous is the right investment of energy and the recent is the wrong investment of energy.

You may ask, how do people invest their energies wrongly? Yes! People do. They do that by taking uncalculated risk, by venturing into unpredicted success lane hoping that miracle will happen or luck will shine on them, by not studying the successful business pioneers, by working on assumptions and expectance of instant gratification. With a good Business Plan you can overcome this low-level mentality that has brought people unprincipled success.
If you have a good business plan which by professional look has been approved to last, you have no worry to worry if the business will pay or not. You simply know that you are in for great business.
