How to Deal With the Fear of Starting a Successful Blog

How to series
Do you want to join millions of people around the world who are making waves in the blogging industry as a blogger? These ones have gained independence from corporate slavery. Over the week, I met with some extremely successful bloggers who after all they had studied in the Universities ended up Bloggers. One was a Journalist and the other was a Registered Nurse.

Do you want to drastically deal with the fears that have hindered you from making the move into the world of abundance as a blogger? Meaning that you have the passion to write but you are afraid of taking the first step. Probably you considered it a risk not worth taking. Or were you thinking blogging will stop you from living the life of freedom you’ve always wanted? If you answered yes to any or all of those questions then I can guarantee you that you are in the right place.

In this blog I have a special interest in building entrepreneurs who will go round the world teaching others How to Change the World.

Recently I got a message from one of my facebook friends and a keen follower of Emchis Consulting which I think it will be nice to share with you. He said;
“Good morning Mr. Emenike Emmanuel. My name is Stan. I just read your article titled “Misconceptions about Blogging” and felt the need to send you this message whilst the fire ignited by your article is still at full blaze in my mind.

I have a passion for writing and have always wanted to go into blogging, but I don’t know where to put the first step. I harbour fears that I might not be able to sustain it. I will really appreciate your guidance and counsel. I have been following your works on facebook. Thank you Sir.”

This is not the first time I’m receiving this kind of message, I have had people stop me at conferences and on the street with excitement that they finally met me live. I have also had people recommend me for speaking engagements by virtue of the great contents of this blog, Emchis Consulting which is speedily making a wave in the industry, but for the fact that I promised him of creating a new article in his honour and in response to his questions, I have decided to include this testimony. Anyway, this is by the way. Let’s go back to the topic of discussion – How to Deal with the Fear of Starting a Blog.
Blogosphere
Registering on wordpress (the best blogging platform) and creating your first article, and afterwards hitting ‘publish’ can be very easy and exciting but continuously churning out great contents can be very difficult, and it is one among the reasons while most people like Stan are afraid if they can sustain it.

Emchismotivationalnetwork.blogspot.com, Emchis.blogspot.com and Emenikeemmanuel.blogspot.com were the first three blogs I started which are now abandoned for several reasons even though my wonderful intellectual materials are still there. That’s to say that starting a blog is not enough but having a Big Picture of what the content and marketing of the blog will be like is much more important.

Starting a blog is a great doorway into the realm of freedom from corporate slavery. When Michael Dunlop of IncomeDiary.com and RetireAt21.com ,Matt Wilson of Under30CEO.com, Ajaero Tony Martins of MyTopBusinessIdeas.com, Bamidele Onibalusi of WritersInCharge.com, Darlinton Omeh of WealthResult.com, Brian Clark of CopyBlogger.com, Darren Rowse ProBlogger.net, Rebekah Radice of RebekahRadice.com, Joel Brown of Addicted2Success.com and I myself (founder of Emchis Consulting) set out to finally become bloggers we had several challenges which we knew had the capacity to stop except we aggressively confront and conquer them.

In fact, the first one month you started blogging can be so challenging that if you are not careful you will either be forced by circumstances to dive into too many niches (combining business with news) or quit entirely. This happens especially when you don’t have visitors on your blog.

How to Overcome the Fear of Building a Successful Blog
As a newbie in the blogging industry, these are some of the things you must do;
1. Expect discouragement from friends and family members but be determined to drive through the odds.
2. Work overtime. Take no vacation.
3. Write often. Hone your writing and speaking skills.
4. Give more interest and time to developing good content over design
5. Attend seminars and conferences related to the niche you are blogging about, it helps you to connect with people.
6. Network with other bloggers by meeting them, following their blogs, commenting often on their blog posts, following them on facebook, twitter, google+ etc
7. Make extensive research before you write.
8. Focus on what you are passionate about and it will be hard for you to quit so soon.
9. See blogging like you see every other business that can’t make money without inputting effort.
10. Give yourself hope that one day you might be giving an offer of over a million dollar to buy up your blog.

In Conclusion
The fear of starting your own blog can actually be dealt with if you will learn to follow the advices of pioneers in the industry. Wait a minute, do you know what you might probably be losing if you don’t start now? The fear of wasting the opportunity is enough to keep you determined to start your blogging career today. However, there are too many Misconceptions about Blogging which I would want you to read before you take action into starting your first or next blog today.

Successful Habits of Visionary Entrepreneurs

Posted on

Mind of an Entrepreneur
Are there visionary entrepreneurs you would like to learn of their habits? Have you tried finding out what makes some entrepreneurs successful and others unsuccessful? And do you think you’ve got all it takes to become a visionary entrepreneur? (Answer those questions before you continue).

As much as I am not going to compel you to live these habits of successful entrepreneurs, I will not relent either in showing you ways these habits can change your life if eventually you learn them.

Before the inspiration to write this article came, what has taken a better part of my thought in the last one week was and still is,; “why on earth will an entrepreneur set out or devotedly be interested to establish a business firm he/she knows won’t last ? What will such a mediocre gain by such a worthless venture? Or is it just for the fun of being a one-time business owner?”

You know, this is a difficult lifestyle to behold. Most entrepreneurs who are in business today do not care to know what they stand to gain at the long run, and no doubt, this is among many reasons why they don’t care to observe the output of every habit they inputted into their businesses.

To make a visionary entrepreneur, more than words are needed. Every habit you exhibit has its resultant effect on your business whether good or bad.

In today’s post, I want to dwell on some of the successful habits Henry Wells, William Fargo and John Butterfield, all of American Express inputted as far back as 1850 into American Express that made their legacy what it is today, the successful habits William Boeing inputted into Boeing in 1915 when he founded it, the successful habits of William Durant founder of General Motors, Thomas Edison of General Electric (the man who thought differently from other inventors), William Hewlett and David Packard founders of HP in 1937, Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook, Aliko Dangote of Dangote Group, Bill Gates of Microsoft Inc., Steve Jobs of Apple, Mazi Clement Owunna of Starline Nigeria, Uche Ugah of Master Energy, Ossy Prestige Ossy of Prestige Associate and many other world renowned successful entrepreneurs.

If I may ask you, what could be some of the habits these men mentioned above were able to exhibit that made their businesses stand out among others? Well, I may not know exactly as I wasn’t there with them but permit me to borrow words from Colin Powell who said; that “There is no secret to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.” This quote makes me believe I have a clue to why these men succeeded while others didn’t.

In my previous exclusive interviews with Authors, Entrepreneurs and Public Speakers in U.S.A., London and Nigeria, I came to realize that those successful habits of visionary entrepreneurs are the same all over the world. That is to say that a millionaire in Nigeria has the capacity to become a millionaire in United States of America under the condition that you play by the same rule that earns you money having every other things as a constant. With this I mean to say that if you open up to what I am about to teach you here, you will achieve great success irrespective of the country you find yourself.

To build a successful business that transcends beyond the first generation founders, the habit starts from day one. The big picture of the future begins from your thought. What do you think about successful people? Do you see them to be lucky or spiritualists? Beyond the Two Things Successful Business People Do, they laboured under correct knowledge, thought ‘next generation’ and most importantly lived the successful habits of visionary entrepreneurs.

Top 7 Habits of Visionary Entrepreneurs

1. They had strong desire to be successful
2. They were ready to risk their momentary gain for their future-endless benefits
3. They were team players who kept by the rules of engagement
4. They were bent on building a clock instead of being experts in time telling
5. They built businesses that create room for innovation
6. They were careful to build businesses that the next generations to come won’t be ashamed to be a part of
7. They were busy raising people after their kind

To keep on producing same successful results in the future you must make it a constant in reproducing after your kind as a visionary entrepreneur such that even in your absence the right and best choice will still be made.

Misconceptions About Blogging

Posted on Updated on

Misconceptions about Blogging pix
How much do you know about the blogging industry? What was your intention for coming into blogging? And what was the biggest lie you were told about the blogosphere? Are you tired of being lied to and now want to know the truth about making money from blog? If you are, then I am ready to help you. You are not permitted to be deceived again on issues about blogging by virtue of the content of this article but if eventually you get deceived, simply know that you caused it because you have refused to abide by my technical yet simple instructions.

Blogging is much more than copy and paste like I have always told you. Blogging is a noble profession which should only be reserved for those few integral part of the society who delight in writing and are passionate about educating the world. Most popular bloggers have deceived new entrants that blogging is all about money making. They have deceived new entrants that it is only the news niche where money can be generated in blogging.

Blogging is not only for the purpose of making money, it is much more than that.
Emenike Emmanuel
Often times most newbie are always misunderstanding the place of blogging in granting employment and financial liberty. Blogging has offered most people a new opportunity to own their own business usually home-based businesses. Blogging as a home-based business has lifted most Nigerians off the burdens of corporate slavery.

Misconceptions about Blogging

Blogging is All about Money Making

Blogging is not just for the purpose of making money. In fact Henry Ford, the founder of Ford Motors was right when he said that “a business that makes nothing but money is a poor business.” Most people who made great amount of money from blogging were mostly those who went into with the goal of achieving something much more than money. In fact, I always advice that it is better to do anything for fame than for money because I have discovered new ways which Thinking Money Makes People Poor, and that is why those who heed to my instructions always come out an outstanding success.

If you are in the Blogging Industry or wish to join soon you must realise from today henceforth that blogging is beyond money making. For more information on other things that could motivate you to become a Blogger or as a Blogger, read this article: 5 Things to Keep You Motivated as a Blogger.

You Don’t Need Passion to Be a Blogger, All You Need is Access to the Internet

Just like every other kind of business career, passion is very pivotal to your excellence. It is passion that keeps you awake at night to research, write and publish. Without passion it will be very difficult to remain a Blogger for more than a year. Most copy and paste attitude being exhibited by some bloggers today especially in Nigeria is because they no longer have the passion to remain in blogging.

One of the biggest lies I have heard ever since I came into blogging professionally was; “you don’t need to be even passionate about it (that is, blogging), all you just need is to have access to the internet.” And my question is who is feeding our innocent and budding online entrepreneurs with all these lies? No wonder the adherers of this fake information copy, edit and paste information on their website without considering the legal implications! They spread rumours and afterwards mess up the blogging profession.

If You Can’t Write You Can Copy Other Bloggers

If you can’t write don’t blog. Look for some other businesses you can do. There are several other internet businesses you could do from home apart from blogging. Please don’t be a party to those who soil the reputation of this noble profession. That Linda Ikeji makes millions of Naira from her blog in a month does not mean we do not have other people who can make as much as twice what she makes from other kind of businesses. What of Akin Alabi, founder of NairaBet.com and Simdul Shagaya, founder of Konga.com? Aren’t they successful? It is plagiarism to steal people’s web content to publish on your blog as though you are the originator. If you can’t write you can market online or go into partnership with others who have special writing skills like most people have done with me. I now write for several magazines and individuals – some I sell out rightly, others I publish in my name.

You Can Write On Any Niche

There’s always an industry you know something about. If it is not the music industry it is the fashion industry, if it is not the movie industry it is football, if it is not entrepreneurship it is insurance, if it is not about the internet it is something else. There are numerous niches available to be explored but the truth is that no matter how versatile you are in knowledge you can’t write (blog) on just any niche. You must have an area of specialty. You must have a niche where you have strong passion for. It is possible you may have more than one niche like me but before you go into blogging professionally it is expedient you decide a niche to blog on. This is where your success as a blogger begins. Your niche is what determines the people you attract to your blog. People surfing the net for information go by keywords and it is these Google keywords that determines if your blog comes up on the search engine or not.

Don’t be deceived, you can’t write on just any niche. Decide a niche you will blog on. There’s something you know how to do best, begin from there. It could be about mobile apps, electronics, psychology, prayer or what have you. Begin with a niche and let your followers understand you to be an expert in that field and before long, money will flow in your direction.

Blogging is a Get Rich Quick Scheme

Most bloggers get frustrated in their blogging career because of the misconceptions they had about blogging. They were told big lies which they could not resist. In fact, when I came into blogging newly we were all told the same lies. Most popular bloggers have deceived us to believe that once you come into blogging you become a millionaire overnight, but this is not true. It takes time to make money online especially as a blogger. It takes courage and perseverance to continue blogging while you wait for the money to come. It took Linda Ikeji of LindaIkeji.blogspot.com, Uche Eze of BellaNaija.com, Darlington Omeh of WealthResult.com, Farouk Radwan of 2KnowMyself.com and several others years before they started making money from blogging. So if you must succeed in this blogging industry you must be ready to exercise patience.

Let me sound it clear again before I finally wrap up this post that blogging is not a get-rich-quick business scheme that makes you money overnight. If you are thinking that way please be informed that blogging is not for you. Blogging is majorly for the purpose of bringing solution to people and as those problems are solved, the money comes.
