Why 2014 is Considered the Year of The Entrepreneurs

2014 has been globally considered by Experts and successful entrepreneurs around the world as the year of the entrepreneurs. This, as I discovered was because of the great number of successful entrepreneurs who are springing off from all works of life. When I conducted my research about entrepreneurs and the business world I came to realise few points that made this year 2014 to be considered the year of the Entrepreneurs by experts. These things are;

1. 2013 produced 138 women as billionaires but 2014 produced 172 billionaires, indicating that 42 women joined the club of billionaires in 2014.
2. In 2013 we had an aggregate net worth of the billionaires to be $5.4 trillion but in 2014 we had an aggregate net worth of billionaires to be $6.4 trillion, indicating an increase of $1 trillion.
3. 2014 has recorded 268 new entrants of billionaires which includes the two gorgeous guys of WhatsApp, Jan Koum and Brian Acton I wrote about in my previous post titled; 5 Lessons I Learnt From the Transaction Between Facebook and WhatsApp.
4. In 2014 Sheldon Adelson joined the top ten billionaires in the world for the first time after adding $11.5 billion to his previous net worth.
5. In 2014 Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook Inc. jumped from $15.2 billion of net worth to $28.5 billion.
6. For the first time in history our own Aliko Dangote, founder of Dangote Group, a man I respect and hold with high esteem so much joined the Top 25 billionaires in the world.
7. And finally, for the first time in history Algeria, Luthuania, Tanzania and Uganda produced her billionaires in dollar. Of a truth, there’s no doubt that the year 2014 so far has really being a blessing to entrepreneurs.

Top 7 Reasons Why You Can’t Do Without a Business Plan

Posted on Updated on

A business plan is as important as the success of the business is. Any entrepreneur who wishes to make it big in business must not invest a dire into any business of interest without first constructing a profitable business plan. Of course you know that a Business Plan is like a roadmap leading to the success of the business. However, you don’t need to spend all your time hoping to write the most articulated business plan – just do it. Write something; at least more than half for small business owners but for great conglomerates, make sure you did all the work from day one.

You can do it. You can write a profitable business plan, but in a situation you don’t trust yourself enough you can always count on us here at Emchis Consulting for guidelines.
For seven top reasons you can’t do without a business plan and that’s what I have got here. Enjoy it.
7 Reasons Why You Need a Business Plan

1. Business Plan makes you stay focused and on track

I have a popular slogan with me “that the focused attitude of an Aircraft is what keeps it going beyond the limiting gravitational force.” When you venture into business, things you never imagined that existed keeps popping into your imagination and if you lack a clear-cut plan of what you are in for and where you are going you may lose focus and start failing. If you want to know Entrepreneurs who lacked concentration go and check those who had no Business Plan.

2. A Business Plan offers you good assistance in setting the standard for accessing and evaluating your business

By taking your mind back to the day you first had that business idea(s), you will understand with me that the business you thought of was quite fascinating. If by any means something goes wrong in your absence, it is with the help of the Business Plan that people can correct the mistake made being in accordance with the vision of the Pioneer. I stand to be corrected that one of the reasons why so many businesses could not survive beyond the first generation owners is because they lacked solid and implemented Business Plans.

If there be a yardstick for measuring accuracy in staff performance in a company, an assessment tool for determining high-level performance in School systems and a limit of Right to offenders, I think we would have no heavy problem to contend with. Remember: Business Plan is a compilation of your Business Ideas in such a manner that it can deliver an optimum result of success. This makes it clear that we must not limit a Business Plan to only businesses. It must be extended to everything that makes us busy – that’s ‘busyness.’ It could be a talent, life goals or a profession. Just name it!

3. Adjustment and Readjustment where and when necessary can only be real in a business that had a Business Plan

To identify the place of error in a licking roof, you must search out for the pigeon-hole using the Building Plan. And until you find the Pigeon-hole in the Building Plan, you may succeed in spending your time in futility. With the help of a Business Plan you can be able to find out mistakes and business failures where and when necessary and within the limit of your knowledge or that of your hired Professionals offer solutions to ameliorate it.

4. Business Plan helps you build values and principles that will guild your company

The kind of product you are limited to trade on must be inculcated in your business plan. How you intend to convince customers must as well be part of the content of your business plan. And the class of customers you are out to serve, the value-rating you seek to acquire in the market, your innovative approach and the standard every workforce of the company must undertake in fulfilling the company’s vision must be strictly spelled out and followed in the Business Plan.
With this, you have acquired the unbending principle towards achieving business breakthrough and greatness.

5. Business Plan helps you recognize opportunities, identify risk, plan preventions and develop strategies to tackle any eventuality

Entrepreneurs who have a Business Plan for their business and apply it to the core are never easily tossed up and down by the prevailing societal issues at hand. It is this kind of people that Zig Ziglar referred to as Real Managers who get excited when their customers complain. Zig Ziglar has it that when customers complain, business owners and Managers ought to get excited because it is a huge opportunity for more business. Why would they get excited because they have just been reminded of their weaknesses and that’s a good opportunity to either subdue it or work on it?

Even before they walk into business, by the power of a good Business Plan, they have known what their possible opportunities for more business are, a limiting weakness that could stand their way, possible risks they must undertake to unveil the next success and of course have searched out means they could prevent the avoidable risks and strategies to tackle the unavoidable risks.
6. A Business Plan defines your products or services

It is in your Business Plan that you determine if your company will be focusing on delivering products (and what type of product?), services (and what type of services?) or products and services (and how this two can be combined optimally). To establish a firm that can’t fail so easily, you must seek to deliver services when selling your products.

If you don’t know how to start or what to sell, start by selling services and then grow into selling products. Once you’ve grown into selling products after services, you can go to think while your business goes ahead in gaining the market shares.
7. A Business Plan helps you channel your energy in the right direction and eliminate waste

Your Energy Bank Account has things that make it stocked up and things that make it glow red. The previous is the right investment of energy and the recent is the wrong investment of energy.

You may ask, how do people invest their energies wrongly? Yes! People do. They do that by taking uncalculated risk, by venturing into unpredicted success lane hoping that miracle will happen or luck will shine on them, by not studying the successful business pioneers, by working on assumptions and expectance of instant gratification. With a good Business Plan you can overcome this low-level mentality that has brought people unprincipled success.
If you have a good business plan which by professional look has been approved to last, you have no worry to worry if the business will pay or not. You simply know that you are in for great business.

How to Raise Money For Your Business Start-up

Do you have a profitable idea, a viable business plan or a qualitative feasibility study but do not have the capital to jump-start your business – I mean the business purported to transform your life for a lifetime? Okay! What would you think if I tell you that raising money for your business startup is as easy as the air we breathe? Would you believe that? I know you might doubt it but before the end of this article I’m optimistic that your doubts will no longer be there. In this article I will show you strategies that helped me raise money to publish my first book, buy my first personal computer and of course support my education in the tertiary institution. A few of the things I mentioned is to tell you how real these strategies of raising money for your business are. Oh! Did I forget to tell you that the money needed to furnish this blog, design and of course print my business card also came from these strategies? These strategies are what self-made millionaires first started with.

These strategies of raising money for your business startup have not only worked for me but also to as many as that have followed my daily teachings on facebook. Recently one of my facebook friends who is also a consultant asked me for permission to borrow some of my strategies so that he could share it in his upcoming Business Class, which I obliged. That’s to tell you that what I am here to teach you on this blog are not one of those theories no one has ever practiced but true key points thousands of people pay to listen to in a Business Summits.

More often than none, people have narrowed their mind to borrowing to start up a business which I regard as the poorest method of a man’s thinking. Successful and practicing businessmen will never suggest that you collect a loan to start up a business – even your worst enemy can’t ask you to do that. This is because most people who failed from the top of their entrepreneurial life to get grounded all had their business capitals as loans with interest they could not pay at the long run. The principle is; “stay self-funded as much as possible.” Never take a loan to start up a business, and if you must collect, make sure the interest rate is as low as possible.
How to Raise Money For Your Business Start Up
To raise money for your business start up, here are few things you must do;

1. Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and every other thing shall be added unto you
2. Conserve more time than you use to. Only few would-be entrepreneurs know that Time is Money. In that case, don’t spend time otherwise you will never have it back instead invest it.
3. Work for a salary/wages
4. Get a part-time job
5. Begin a home-based business as another stream of income
6. Use salary advance for your start up if you are already employed
7. Raise your bar of excellence in the area of financial discipline
8. If you have a viable business plan and a well articulated and comprehensive feasibility study go for loan but be sure it has a low interest rate.

When you generate more income from any of the above strategies I stated above, begin by implementing it right away and you will see yourself flying on the wings of success.

Top Reasons Why Starting Your Business Part-Time is Good for You

Are you intending to embark on starting a new business from scratch or expanding your already existing business? Do you want to learn how starting a business part-time can help you avoid the risk of experiencing a fatal business failure? Do you want to know why most successful businesspeople started off first by working part-time? Or you want to know why I recommend that you start your business part-time first? Well, if you answered yes to all those questions, then I advice you read on because this article is specifically written for you.

In my previous post on How to Achieve Success Working Part-Time, I told us how to use the Magic of Part-Time in generating uncommon wealth. I also told you things you need to know about working part-time and if I can remember vividly, I promised to tell you Why I Suggest You Start Part-Time. Today, I have come to fulfill my promise but for clarity, I have titled it, “Top Reasons Why Starting Your Business Part-Time is good for you.” This article is poised to challenge you and of course unveil the secrets hidden for ages why some businesses hardly experience business downturn.
Enjoy it.

Record shows that 65 percent of Small and Medium scale enterprises close down after 3 years of start up and to a great extent this has being a great pool of headache to me. It was a part of my reasons why I didn’t want to become a successful entrepreneur alone but to help others become successful too. I came to realise that some of the reasons why these small and medium scale businesses went down the drain was because they never cared to test the ground upon which they sheepishly sow all the proceedings of their life. They did what I call ‘uncalculated risk’ and no wonder they crashed so easily. The consequence has to tell on them and no doubt, there’s no way they can outsmart it than start all over again. This is something that was avoidable if they had mastered the Act of Starting Part-Time.

If you want to achieve success early enough in life, I am of the opinion that you start part-time. For instance, you are in school but you wish to go into business after getting your first degree, I suggest you start part-time. If you are working on a full-time job now but wish to become a business owner in future, start part-time. Don’t quit your job too early until you have mastered the world of business to an extent, otherwise you may regret ever being in business. They are countless number of skills you will learn while working part-time. Not only will you learn those entrepreneurship skills, you will also have the liberty of less risk to test run your ideas if it has a market value, a trans-generational standard and lots more.

Notwithstanding all the great articles you see on this blog I am still working on it part-time although my part-time has produced more result than those who have invested all their life in it.
Let me shock you…

Do you know that intelligent hiring companies are more willing to work with part-timers than they are ready to work with full-timers? With part-timers the employers save more money and still get the same result if not more than. This is because part-time workers are more conscious of time than full-time workers can ever be. Each day they have a goal they must meet to earn a pay which they must reach. Recently, in the US, employers are beginning to see into the potential profits in hiring part-time workers as a means of cutting cost by all measures.
Now, do you wish to become a successful entrepreneur? Listen to my instruction and start part-time. I wish to see you at the top. Thank you.

How Thinking ‘SERVICE’ Makes You Rich

How Thinking ‘SERVICE’ Makes You Rich

I n my previous post I told us How Thinking Money Makes You Poor, and today in this post I want to show you how thinking service can make you rich. So, do you really want to be rich or you are satisfied wishing it? Wishes don’t make people rich, instead, action does. And that action is this service I am about to show you. Once again I ask you, do you want to be rich? As if I don’t know – who doesn’t want to be rich? Of course everyone does but the poor can never be totally eliminated. This post today if rightly applied can add a dollar to your account. By this I mean to say that if you discover an area to serve, people will willingly pay you for it.

Jim Rohn, the American Business Philosopher said something from the Bible that amazed me. He said; “Service to many leads to great.” This is exemplified in the number of people that followed the ministry of Jesus Christ. Even after many have read this, some of them still undermine the power of service. Service, no doubt is the only channel through which we pay our rent here on earth and it is still the only reason for which money can leave your hand into mine and that of others. None can ever be rich by thinking money. Most times we are beclouded with this fantasy about money that thinking money, money, money will make us have it. Wake up my dear, the rich has always sought for a means to serve the poor, yet the poor still wonder why the rich are getting richer. Can’t you see they are ones serving you despite how rich they are? The day they get tired of serving you they are FIRED.

Experts have told us that 80 percent of the money generated in the world is controlled by 20 percent of the world population. And from the last time I checked, this twenty percent offer the greatest and most widely used services.

No matter how long you continue to think about money you may never have it. My own case was a glaring one. As much as I thought about money, I lacked the money even more. I never knew I was empowering my mind to work against my success. This is the case of most entrepreneurs today but thank God for this article that has come to change us; the way we think and the things we think on. Steve Jobs sought for a way to make computer more portable and digitalised so as to serve us better he built Apple computer. and the money came. Bill Gates sought for a way to simplify issues especially during calculation so as to serve the world better he gave us Microsoft and the money came. Richard Branson sought for a way to make travels in the air more convenient so that people can get value for their money and he gave us Virgin Airways. Aliko Dangote, the great man of the African community sought for a way to serve Africans better he gave us Dangote Group of companies that have continued to cater for our Cement, Salt, Sugar, Flour, Juice and Pasta needs and the money came. Okay, what of Mike Adenuga?- The giant man of Telecommunication in Africa. His decision to serve his people was his propelling force to compete favourably with MTN in a market that was already taken. Anyone that ever became rich had a way he served.

Before I finally drop my pen let me ask again, Are You Ready to Be Rich? If you are, then you should be thinking of new ways to serve your generation. There has never been any other better way of becoming rich than through service. Thinking Service Can Make You Rich if you know how to think it.
Thank and God bless you.

How to Become a Successful Motivational Speaker Speaking to Elders

How to Become a Successful Motivational Speaker Speaking to Elders

When granted/offered the privilege to speak to elders, it is a great opportunity you must never joke with. I know of great and talented Comedians who have lost every contact with the Government meetings in Nigeria simply because they misused this kind of opportunity and I also know of others who have repeatedly being invited to spice up every government’s meeting with some sort of comic relief because they maximized the first opportunity. Remember they said there’s no second chance to give a first impression, which is true. So, if you make it to speak before elders, whether in the traditional settings, in Church, in government or in business, here are things you must do and the ones you must never do in order to remain afloat in the industry of public speaking.

1. Never insult them in your speech

Yes. It is a taboo to insult elders especially here in Africa. Pick your words. It is better you are termed a poor speaker than to be termed an insulting speaker. At least they might think you don’t have wealth of knowledge on the topic offered you to speak on and may do better if given another topic. But in a situation you ended up insulting them because you had the platform, know it well that they will talk about you in the negative, and I hope you know what that means? It simply means, no business – doors closed.
2. Never tell them lies because you want to excite them or prove to them you are versatile

Nothing soils the reputation of a speaker like telling lies. I know you might be trying to excite them but don’t you think they will find out? What then becomes of your reputation if they find out? Elders can go as far as suing you when you tell them lies, especially the ones that has something to do with them.

3. Tell them what they need to hear (they are less driven by wants)

What they need to hear is the reason for which they invited you to speak. So in every speaking style you may want to employ, make sure you are telling them what they need to hear not what you want to talk about. You can ask them before mounting the podium. There’s no error in asking question. Ask the person that handed over the letter to you so that he can give you details of what your audience might be expecting so that you don’t end your speech regretting. Your joy as a motivational speaker is not because you have spoken well with powerful accent but in the audience being left motivated.

4. Make them forget their worries either by cracking jokes or addressing their pressing need

I have come to realize through many years of having dealings with elders that nothing sets them uneasy like their worries. And most of them especially the wealthy ones can do everything at their reach to get it out. In making elders forget their worries two things are involved. One is to crack jokes and another is to address their pressing need. Don’t tell me you can’t do any of this. If you can’t then you are not yet ready to be a Motivational speaker.

5. Learn to quote higher authorities they can’t refute their philosophies

Elders want to know how vast you are. There’s no other means of getting to know about quotes of authorities of diverse industries except through books. In that case, if you want to know what experts and elders have to say over a particular issue under discussion you must be a good reader – you must read books. Most importantly, search quotes of some elders who may likely be in the event, and as you speak, quote them. In a situation you can’t get their books or that of other elders they respect their philosophy Google it. The internet has made many things much easier for us today. One of the talented public speakers I learnt this strategy from was Niyi Adesanya of Nigeria. He uses this strategy when addressing Yoruba elders by quoting Pa Obafemi Awolowo.

6. Speak with confidence.

When speaking to elders don’t hide the genius in you. You don’t have a second chance to make the first impression. Do your homework very well. For me, sometimes I rehearse before a mirror, record my speeches with a phone so that I can listen to myself and I also ask my siblings how well I have performed.
The first day I spoke in a Church before my Dad, I prepared very well in the night and on that Sunday, I performed so excellently that he congratulated me with a bottle of wine and some other expensive gifts he wouldn’t have given me ordinarily.

7. Work with time
Elders know what time is than young people do, so when speaking to them stick to your timing. Don’t think you can always apologise for being late. Stick to the time allotted to you and be sure you exhausted your topic.

How to Become a Motivational Speaker Elders Will Love to Listen to

Before I go ahead to tell you the kind of Motivational Speakers elders will love to listen to let me tell you who a Motivational Speaker is. A Motivational Speaker can as well be called an Inspirational Speaker. It all depends on the title the person in focus wants to go by. A Motivational Speaker is a speaker who makes speeches intended to motivate or inspire an audience. Business organisations may require the services of a Motivational speaker to help the employees see the future of the business in a more positive dimension. With soft words of encouragement a Motivational speaker helps an audience especially that involving a business entity to be goal oriented.

Having said all that about who a Motivational Speaker is, and what he has to offer, let me tell you how you can become the kind of Motivational speaker elders will love to listen to. That’s to say that there are speakers, especially young motivational speakers elder dislike listening to and others they can spend their last card on flight ticket to hear them speak. Now, what makes the difference? Is that one of them being disliked do not have a peculiar story to share or that the speaker speaks in a manner inconsistent with what elders love to invest their time listening to? In few lines from now you will get to know why some young Motivational Speakers are preferred over the other when it has to do with speaking to elders.

Don’t forget that every audience has their own kind of message. I was once in a meeting where a young Motivational speaker was speaking to a crop of young students in a manner that should have being reserved to a Church congregation. And guess what? The response he got said it all.
